A couple is sitting together, she has her head on his shoulder, their arms are entwined... and yet, they're both looking at their iPhones, lost in their own virtual worlds.

Corn off the cob
November 2
What's left of a cob of corn, just lying there next to my seat. Now I'm picturing someone eating corn on the cob on the bus, maybe with a bit of salt and butter?

Oblivious
October 30
Two men are having a relaxed discussion from one end of the bus to the other, as though they were sitting, alone, in their living room, breaking the unspoken rule of etiquette that we must be quiet and discreet while on the bus. Meanwhile, in true anglo-saxon fashion, everyone else is acting as though this wasn't happening at all.

Battle of the wills
September 26
A mother has been waiting for the bus with her stroller for 30 minutes, because of busses being too full to make room for the stroller. The bus she finally gets on has a wheelchair, and several elderly women taking up the priority seats. She refuses to get off, the driver won't leave with her blocking the aisle. She starts to swear and confront everyone. People are uncomfortable, annoyed... but in good Canadian style, say nothing. Finally the driver lets her stay on, as long as she takes full responsibility of her actions... or something.
